How To Join

Theta Chi Epsilon is a private organization and sorority that is always looking for new sisters, but a few rules do apply:

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. You must pay the required National fees and dues.
  3. You must go through a three-month probationary period.
  4. You must go through a written examination and pass.
  5. You must take the oath in the required rituals.

The typical process includes the following:

  • Visit and participate as a guest. Most of the Theta Chi Epsilon meetings and events are open for other women to join as a guest. We encourage anyone who is interested to be our guest at an upcoming meeting. We also invite you to participate in any of our upcoming charity events. If you would like to find your local chapter’s next meeting, provide your information on the Contact Us page, and we will contact you shortly.
  • Do an informal or formal rush. A rush is similar to being a guest, except this is the stage where you have indicated a strong interest in joining the sorority and you begin to learn from other sisters more about what it means to be a part of Theta Chi Epsilon.
  • Become a pledge. This stage involves taking an oath in the required ritual and a three-month probationary period.
  • Be voted into the sorority as an official member. After you have been a pledge and continued to express interest in joining Theta Chi Epsilon, your local chapter will take a vote to bring you in as a member. Once this is complete, you will have your welcome ceremony, and you will become an official Theta Chi Epsilon sister.

Everyone goes through this process at a different pace, and not every guest decides to join Theta Chi Epsilon. It is an individual process and personal choice.
